Iwalu - This island nation is located off of the coast of Unulatonn between the 297th and 3,843rd mile markers. An archipelago of more than 300 islands and 1,000 atolls, Iwalu is sparsely populated. Not much is known about the origin of the inhabitants, though it is thought that they came from the lone continent of Creevesten, to the southwest over the Sea of Storms. It is indeed odd that the Ytarrian colonists didn't land on the islands and settle there, instead, it would seem that they somehow missed the nation, or were driven off course in their journeys. The locals, however, have a myth about why they are there. They believe that long ago, when their ancestors were out on a routine fishing expedition to deep waters, a massive storm of incredible power came and spoke to the fishing tribes-people, telling them to follow it. They did, and it eventually led them to Iwalu.

Frainne - This eastern country resides on the coastline surrounded by a bizarre ring of mountains, the Droiffen Range. The Droiffen Range extends for a distance of nearly 3,432 miles in a semicircular shape around a fertile, sub-tropic depression that goes to the Sea Alaj Cloimratel (Ocean that is Shallow). People from the burning continent of Sultonakha settled Frainne. Most of them emigrated from the northern regions of Sultonakha, where there is more plant life and moisture. Conquered by the Vantlovgaard Empire in the year 239 VD, Frainne was the very first in a long series of unbroken conquests and military successes leading up to the golden age of the Empire. In the 1st Horoian Conflict, Frainne broke away and allied itself to Tedetipp for a short while, until Vantovia staged a coup within Frainne's government, causing it to turn back to the splintering Empire. It is now widely considered a satellite of Vantovia.

Borsland - This centrally located country is situated right in the middle of the Umbrare Plateau. The Umbrare Plateau is a part of the Obarg Mountain Range. Forming a sort of spine that splits Horoia in two distinct halves, the Obarg Mountain Range is considered by many to be the official continental divide. Borsland is mostly a frigid country, although it is very beautiful and revered for its famous ski resorts. This country also used to be the site of Vantlovgaard's backup capital in case of a war. Being a very well fortified country and extremely hard to conquer, it made a perfect fortress.

Aleriata - A very small, equatorial country on the coast. Aleriata has been waging a 200-year war with its southern neighbor Osh. Since Aleriata declared independence from Osh, constant skirmishes and battles have torn the two countries apart.

Castes - In the ancient empire, the social classes were divided into castes. This system endured throughout the majority of the empire's existence. Only in the year 2,281 VD was it finally forsaken in favor of free enterprise and will.
The lowest caste was the Unforgiven (Vlasdromean); these people were often convicted criminals, outcasts of society, who had been exiled to this caste without hope of moving back up.
The next level up was the Cellar Sweeper (Vlandromin) caste; these were the people who cared for the dirtiest, lowest regions of towns and cities. They were usually sent to this lifestyle because of a crime or extreme poverty; however, they were given the chance to earn credit to move out of the caste.
The third level up was called the Servitude (Alvasnion) or Peon (Advasnizl) caste. Members of this caste generally had to do the work of servants or take lowly jobs in the society, although they were never allowed to cook or handle food until they earned enough social respect to move up.
Next, comes the Skilled (Aladvarimon) caste. These workers generally held better jobs and could more easily afford the comforts of the middle and upper classes. Some even had their own servant or two.
The next caste represents one of the larger jumps in-between classes, demonstrating the size of the gap between the impoverished masses and the social elite. The Pillar Holding (Antralviowyn) caste is rather well endowed and owned a good number of the small and medium sized businesses in the Empire.
Above the Pillar Holders are the Ordained (Aliabaliavan). This caste constituted much of the upper echelons of society. Many of those in the Ordained caste were government officials and wealthy businessmen. The vast majority of the people in this caste were born into it with privilege.
Beyond the Ordained there are those of the Enthroned (Autweyl) caste. People of the Enthroned Caste generally form the highest echelons of the aristocracy.
