Vantlovgaard - The greatest and largest empire that ever arose on Juparian. The Vantlovgaard Empire lasted nearly 3,000 years. An entire time period is named for the empire. VD, or Vantlovgaard Duration, begins with the unification of all countries on the continent Horoia into Vantlovgaard. It ends with the final breakup of the empire in VD 2,997 after a 7-year civil war. During it's golden age (VD 486-2,124) the empire produced some of the best philosophers, scientists, artists and inventors the world has ever seen.

Anthropological Association of the Northern Regions - At the very northernmost tip of Crystal Lake there is a research institute created for the study of the Far Northern and Arctic Regions. It is the prominent center of study on the ice-dwelling civilization in Crystal Lake. Only special transport carriers can reach it and service it. Most of the center is underground and derives its heat from geothermal sources.
